How To Use Fresh Lids
KEEPS FOOD FRESHER LONGER WITH A PERFECT VACUUM SEAL. THEY SIMPLY STRETCH TO FIT.
Fresh Lids will fit any size container from 6.5cm to 23cm in diameter and will stretch to fit most shapes.
Most commonly used for storing foodstuffs, replacement lids for plastic containers, tin can lids, over the ends of fruit and vegetables.
When putting the lids on larger size containers we recommend that you work around the edge of the container stretching the lid on as you go, the friction of the silicone will hold the lid in place. Once the Fresh Lid is on, you must then vacuum seal it by slightly lifting one edge and pushing down on the lid to expel some air from the container.
The Fresh Lids work best on a dry surface. Please ensure that neither the lid nor the container is wet or oily. Do not pull directly on the tabs, they are there to help take the lid off.
Use them to seal the end of a block of cheese, or a partly used sour cream container, on a bowl of left overs or salad, a plastic container where the lid is lost or broken. The seal is both liquid and air tight. You can even use them on a container with pool chemicals, oil or petrol, as the silicone is not harmed by gases or solvents.
Use your lids to keep fresh cut melon, pineapple, lemon, pumpkin, half a cabbage, half an onion, avocado or tomato, in fact any fruit or vegetable which has a round or oval shape. For soft or odd shaped fruit leave a gap around the edge, as long as you place them face down in the fridge the silicone will seal up on the face. When putting the fresh lids on fruit or vegetables, try and avoid contact between the edge of the lid and the cut face of the fruit or vegetable. They stick best when the edge is dry. Always place your fruit and vegtables upside down so that the lid seals on the cut face, and to avoid any juice from dripping.
Please Note: It has come to our attention that the dishwasher additive Rinse Aid leaves a coating on the Fresh Lids that may cause them to slip. If you do experience any issues such as this please try washing them either by hand or in the dishwasher but with no additives.
